This painting is a response to the sandstone cliff faces that line the Hawkesbury River; ancient formations shaped by time, weather, and stillness. Drawn to their layered textures and earthy hues, I explored the warm ochres, soft greys, and subtle blush tones that quietly echo the Australian landscape.

These rocks embody both quietness and strength; grounded, enduring, and unapologetically present. Through this work, I sought to capture not just their physical presence, but the sense of calm and resilience they emanate. They remind me of place, of permanence, and of the quiet power held in nature’s stillness.
